How Desigual automates travel booking and approvals with TravelPerk

Desigual's unique fashion offering today breaks the mold in more than 107 countries, with more than 215 stores worldwide and logistics centers in Spain, the US, and Hong Kong.
For the Barcelona-based firm, it was clear that a global reach of this caliber required a commitment to digitization. They wanted to streamline the way they managed corporate travel focusing on these objectives:
  • One platform to book travel and manage their policy: Desigual were looking for a business travel tool that allowed travelers to book and organize their own trips quickly and easily, while also staying within policy.  With travel policies baked into the booking process, this would reduce travel approval times and budget control.
  • Immediate access to a large inventory with accurate pricing  Both travelers and the Finance and Purchasing department needed access to a large inventory, expense control options and enough variety to choose hotels to suit each traveler's taste. 
  • Help whenever and wherever they need it: Desigual were looking for a platform with instant support at any time of day via phone, chat or email.l. In other words, a digital solution with 24/7 support to help solve problems with reservations, payments or any unforeseen trip cancellations.
The company knew that it was necessary to continue taking care of the team's travel experience, this time with a more agile and transparent solution.

TravelPerk's customization features were a definitive advantage: from tailored services to integrations with third party HR and expense management tools, plus a huge inventory that would allow them to continue use Avis and Iryo for car and train travel.
After testing the platform for two months, 90 trips and 179 bookings later, the decision was made: 92% said "yes" to TravelPerk as their new travel agency... and it has stayed that way since 2019.

More agile processes: 89% of trips require no approvals

Travelers make their own bookings through the app, even for more complex trips. Out of 3650 trips in 2024, 89% of them were approved automatically, always within the allocated budget thanks to pre-set travel policies.
And for the remaining 11% of trips that didn't comply with Desigual’s travel policy? TravelPerk automatically forwards them to the people assigned on their HR platform. The seamless synchronization of data between the two platforms also frees up their HR team from managing users and access.

Total cost control and competitive rates

No more booking "blind." From the outset, 87% of travelers have access to competitive rates and a wide inventory of flights, hotels, Airbnb, cars, and long-distance and low-cost trains. In addition, they could continue booking the usual services from the platform while maintaining pre-existing negotiated rates with hotels.
